After a Master

Rembrandt's Self-Portrait in Cap: Laughing from our collection of fine etchings after the master by Francesco Novelli (1764–1836). Novelli was the son of the artist Pietro Antonio Novelli (1729–1804). He studied with his father and also under the French printmaker Dominique Vivant Denon (1747–1825), who was the first director of the Louvre.
