Continuing our Indian theme this week, we have a new collection of impressive large portrait drawings by Mumbai artist Prakash Sonawane. A trio of historic figures.

Image 1: Baji Rao I was the second Peshwa and ruled the Maratha Empire from 1720 until his death in 1740. Known as the best cavalry general, he never lost any battle.

Image 2: Charan Singh (1916–1990) was the spiritual head of Radha Soami Satsang Beas. He served as the guru for the Beas Dera for almost four decades. He taught that, because of our attachment to the mind and body, we have lost sight of our true self. However, by using the ancient mystical practices of Sant Mat and Surat Shabd Yoga, we could be aligned with our higher selves.

Image 3: Roop Singh (1908–1977) was a legendary Indian hockey player. He was part of the celebrated Indian field hockey team, which won gold medals for India at the 1932 and 1936 Olympic Games. He is considered one of the greatest hockey players of all time.
