An attractive watercolour by marine artist Bob McKay.
Born in Connecticut, USA, McKay moved to England at the age of eight and studied art and lithography at Liverpool City School of Art. He worked for many years as a craftsman in the printing industry, before moving to painting full time. Living at Emsworth, Chichester harbour, he spent much time sailing and painting the waters of the Solent. He had numerous one man exhibitions and won accolades such as Winner in the Champagne Mumms Admiral Cup international marine art competition, Cowes week. McKay exhibited at the Royal Society of Marine Artists, the Mall Galleries in London, and one of his Admiral Cup action paintings was chosen to appear in the Royal Society of marine artists calendar.
