An original c.1830s watercolour painting, F.M.H., Boy with Cat Niche Painting after Gerrit Dou.
A fine watercolour in sepia showing a boy and his cat in an arched stone opening, sometimes called a 'niche' painting. This composition was a characteristic of the Dutch Golden Age painter Gerrit Dou (1613–1675), who was a pupil of Rembrandt.
