An original late 19th-century engraving print, Alfred Dawson, Iffley, Oxfordshire.
A charming view at Iffley in Oxfordshire etched by Alfred Dawson (1843–1931).
Painter and etcher Alfred Dawson was son of the painter Henry Dawson (1811–1878). He exhibited 1860–89 at the Royal Academy in London, in Suffolk Street and at the British Institution. He also produced illustrations for a number of books, including 'A Royal Warren, or Picturesque Rambles in the Isle of Purbeck', 'A History of Dorset', and for 'The Portfolio' magazine.
On watermarked laid paper. One of a pair that we have for sale (see KB-844).
