British & Continental Studies: Dashwood

This drawing forms part of a collection of works we have for sale by a mid-19th-century hand named Dashwood. The graphite works in the collection depict a range of landscape subjects, mainly Continental, including views on the Danube, Rhine and at Waterloo in Belgium. Watercolours by the same hand include views in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and France. Executed mostly on 1946 Whatman paper, these pictures represent the keen observations of a talented Grand Tourist.
