This charming picture is original hand-painted artwork by children’s illustrator Doris E. White. On thin board.

Signed lower right. One of a pair, the other of which is dated.
In excellent condition.

Doris White is famous for her illustrations for Enid Blyton’s “Noddy” books in the 1940s/50s. She was owner of Link Studio in Holburn, London. Her consummate skill as an illustrator is evident here: the pleasing balance of the composition, the cute, characterful expressions of the animals and the vibrant yet sensitive use of colour.
