An original 1912 woodcut – József Makoldy, Hungarian Secession Ex Libris Bookplate for V. Molnár.
A stylish original Art Nouveau bookplate, or ex libris, dating from 1912 and associated with the Hungarian Secession movement.
The bookplate was designed by József Makoldy for V. Molnár.
József Makoldy (1890–1957) was a landscape painter and book illustrator. He studied art in Munich and Krakow. In 1918 he had a collective exhibition at the National Salon, and at the Hall of Arts in 1921. He received the Esterházy Watercolor Prize in 1922. His works are in the Hungarian National Gallery.
