An original 19th-century pen & ink drawing, Eastern Caricatures and Studies.
A humorous Victorian caricature of two men in Middle Eastern dress, one of whom is clutching a number of weapons. This is very much in the style of the cartoonist Sir John Tenniel, who was working around the middle of the nineteenth century. Other studies on the same page show a house with a conical roof, a man's torso, and a coach and horses. Watermark 'F.J'.
In good condition for its age. There is some age toning, and creases to the paper, as shown.
20.7cm x 23.7cm.
