East Anglia Magazine: Paul Hogarth OBE RA et al

East Anglia Magazine: Paul Hogarth OBE RA et al

This exceptional collection dating from the 1950s comprises illustrations by Paul Hogarth (1917–2001), one of the most successful and prolific commercial artists of his day, as well as works by other esteemed draughtsmen, including Andrew Dodds (1927–2004) and Beryl Irving (1896–1965).

Many of the drawings were reproduced in East Anglian Magazine—an eclectic publication of stories, illustrations and old photographs, relating to the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. The drawings all share a quirky, English appeal—often slightly humorous or oddball, depicting local personalities and customs, or illustrating amusing anecdotes or intriguing scenes from local history.
