Walter Cristall: Early 20th-century Landscape Watercolours

Walter Cristall was a landscape artist working in Hampstead, London in the early to mid-20th century. He reportedly had a studio at 15 Nassington Road in Hampstead, and lived in a three-storey Regency building called Bronte Cottage opposite Hampstead Heath, which was later home to artist Mary Hill. Cristall exhibited between 1925 and 1940, including at the New English Art Society, the RA, the RBA and the RSA. This is painting is one of a collection of watercolours by Cristall that we have for sale, depicting rural British landscapes around Middlesex, Essex and Suffolk, and Hampstead itself.
