An attractive pair of watercolours on a single sheet by Mary C. Durst, dating from the late 1880s. The views comprise 1. The beautiful gothic spire of Harfleur Church, Normandy, 2. The church of Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives, (At the mouth of the Dives William collected his 3000 ships & 50,000 men to invade England.
Durst was married to John Durst MA, Vicar of Bredhurst, Chatham, whose brother William was Canon of Winchester.
