An original early 19th-century lithograph print, Thomas Maisey PNWS, Riverside with Church & Weir.
Thomas Maisey PNWS (1787–1840) was a founding member of the New Watercolour Society and served as its president between 1833 and 1838. He also exhibited at the Royal Academy until 1828. He painted views in Kent, Surrey and Dromana, Ireland, and was also a lithographer. Three lithographs by Maisey are in the Royal Collection.
Thomas Maisey's son, General Frederick Charles Maisey, was an ensign in the Bengal Native Infantry and became an ardent antiquarian, passionate about the vestiges of ancient India (see stock number JS-676 for an Indian drawing by F.C. Maisey).
