An original c.1851 graphite drawing Ruin with Figure, Possibly Casamicciola, Isola d'Ischia, Naples.
A meticulous graphite drawing with watercolour and white bodycolour showing a charming Neapolitan view. Based on another similar drawing from the same collection, it is possibly a view at Casamicciola in the northern part of Ischia Island. The companion drawing was by a British artist with the initials C.S. It bears similarity to the Continental views of Clarkson Stanfield (1793–1867), who painted at Ischia in the mid-19th century.
In graphite on tinted cream paper with watercolour and white bodycolour.
