A remarkably fine work, entirely hand painted. After the famous Head of Christ or Ecce Homo by the 17th-century Italian Baroque painter Guido Reni. The detailed portrayal of Christ's face convincingly conveys his anguish as a crown of thorns is placed on his head in the lead up to his crucifixion.

Exquisitely painted in watercolour with gum arabic to intensify the colour. On cream wove paper.
