This miniature half length portrait depicts a rustic girl in charming detail. The colouration is especially vivid. 

This is one of a trio of portraits we have for sale which are French in appearance. One of the portraits depicts a sultan in Turkish dress and represents the fashion for the Ottoman empire style in France around the turn of the 19th century. The style enjoyed a heyday during the Romantic period in France 1830-65.
