A highly accomplished watercolour painting showing the Grand Canal in Venice. It is painted on a thick printed page, taken from a directory of artists who exhibited at the Royal Academy in the 1820s. An inscription on the album page for this picture reads 'Henderson'—this was the celebrated landscape painter John Henderson Snr (1764–1843).
