There is something glorious about these intricate 19th-century architectural interior watercolours—a dying art in the age of CGI? British artist Hughson Hawley (1850–1936) was a leading architectural renderer in New York City at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, his work bridging the gap between imagination and reality. Newly listed this week, his 'vision in teal' recalls his view of the carved parlour at Crewe Hall, Cheshire (image 2).
