S. Twopenny White Hedge Bindweed Flowers

An original 1842 watercolour painting, S. Twopenny, White Hedge Bindweed Flowers.

A fine original botanical watercolour by S. Twopenny of the Twopenny family of Rochester, Kent and Little Casterton, Rutland. The watercolour has a beautiful naturalness, executed with particular delicacy, capturing the subtle tones of this British wildflower.

With gum arabic to intensify the colour. Painted on paper, which has then been precisely cut out around the plant and laid down on card, mounted onto backing paper.
