An original 1964 album The Sources of the Nile: Explorers' Maps AD 1856–1891.
Printed by the Royal Geographical Society in 1964, this green portfolio contains reproductions of maps produced by 19th-century British explorers in East and Central Africa. Comprising fourteen plates reproduced on ten sheets. Includes two reproductions of watercolours by the English explorer Captain John Hanning Speke, 'Na'mweri Falls (Ripon Falls)' and 'Mgongo Thembo'. With explanatory notes, including an introduction by Gerald Roe Crone.
