The Anglo-Dutch artist Abraham Hulk Jnr (1851–1922) was born in the Netherlands but spent the majority of his life working in England. He was trained by his father, the maritime painter Abraham Hulk the Elder (1813–1897). Hulk Jnr specialised in rural English landscapes; living in London from the 1870s to 1890s he particularly painted the countryside around Surrey. He exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists and Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
