Subjects include, amongst others, 'The Beginnings of Aerial Reconnaissance 1794', 'The First Balloons 1783-84' and 'Doctor Miller's Design for an Ornithopter 1843'. Ten of the twelve prints have their original coversheet too, on thin tissue paper, giving a description of the scene depicted (two of these sheets are missing). He was a founder and Honorary Secretary of the Society of Graphic Art, an examiner for the Royal Drawing Society, and a member of the Art Workers' Guild and the Society of Marine Artists. He taught etching at the Central School of Arts \u0026amp; Crafts between 1918 and 1930, and was the author of 'Etching and Etchings: a guide to the technique and to print collection', 1930. In 1841 Leech's lifelong connection with Punch began. His drawings for Punch, reproduced as wood engravings, the work for which he is most celebrated.
