An original 1943 graphite drawing, Kenneth E. Wootton, Boat Study, Lincoln.
An appealing sketch by Kenneth Edwin Wootton (1885–1974), a modern British artist who trained at the Royal Academy Schools and served with gallantry in the First World War. This work shows Wootton's keen eye for detail. This drawing is one a group of Lincoln subjects by Wootton that we have for sale—many studies of barges on the River Witham at Brayford Pool—dating from 1941 to 1943, which suggest Wootton possibly lived at Lincoln during this time.
