Clogstoun Connections

We have a beautiful trio of works by Ina Clogstoun (b.1863), an artist who seems to have been lost to the annals of time but who had affinities with the Arts & Crafts movement. She was related to Blanche Clogstoun (1862–1895), who was adopted by the artist George Frederick Watts, and her sister, the tragically-fated Adeline Clogstoun, who was photographed on her deathbed by Julia Margaret Cameron. Ina's work featured in the promotional material for The Magpie Madrigal Society, alongside Ruskinites Arthur Severn and Selwyn Image. In 1906 she held a solo exhibition at the Fine Art Society, exhibiting watercolours of Italian spring and English summer.
