A rare engraving after a painting by the 17th-century Italian painter Elisabetta Sirani (1638-1665), 'Cupid Burning Armour, In the Gallery at Houghton'. Published June 1st 1782 by John Boydell Engraver in Cheapside, London.
Houghton was the home of Sir Robert Walpole, Britain's first Prime Minister, who amassed a fine collection of Old Master artworks.
On cream laid paper.
