Elaine Williamson (1940-2021) nació en Cheshire. Estudió en el Manchester College of Art y posteriormente realizó estudios de posgrado en Stoke-on-Trent, el centro de la industria cerámica inglesa. Su carrera comenzó como diseñadora en Crown Staffordshire. Posteriormente, realizó diseños para el Grupo Wedgwood, especialmente para Coalport.

En 1977, fue nombrada Directora de Diseño en Poole Pottery, donde introdujo numerosas formas y patrones nuevos, incluyendo una gama de porcelana china, un nuevo punto de inflexión para la empresa. Muchos de sus patrones han sido líderes del mercado tanto en Europa como en Estados Unidos, entre los que destacan las gamas Springtime, Fleur, Wild Garden, Iona y Concert. Fue nombrada miembro de la Chartered Society of Designers.
