Theodore Henry Adolphus Fielding (1781–1851)

This lovely Continental landscape by Theodore Henry Adolphus Fielding (1781–1851), which is a small triumph in composition and colouring.

Fielding was born in Yorkshire, part of an artistic family that included his father Nathan Theodore Fielding and his three brothers, Copley, Thales and Newton, who were also well known watercolourists. Theodore was in addition a highly regarded teacher and engraver, working in stipple and aquatint.
