Robert J. Gedge is believed to be Robert John Gedge, born 1872 in Coltishall on the Norfolk Broads. He painted local views around the Coltishall area, at Horstead, on the Bure, and further afield to Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. His impressionistic style and distinctive palette—of terracottas, salmon pinks and yellow-greens—imbue his work with the soft warmth of an East Anglian summer.
