A charming naive style painting by the young Augustus Flower Freeman (1800–1875). This is one of a trio by the artist that we have for sale. See stock numbers KA-674 to KA-676.

Augustus Freeman was the son of artist Samuel Flower Freeman Jr (1757–1824). His grandfather, Flower Freeman Snr, was a merchant and chairman of the London hospital. Augustus's mother was Mary Parry of Uxbridge, a cousin of Lord Brougham.
