Anon. Caernarfon Castle, Wales

An original early 19th-century watercolour painting Caernarfon Castle, Wales.

A large scale watercolour, executed in muted blue, grey and green tones, typical of the Monro School at the beginning of the 19th century and artists such as Thomas Hearne (1744–1817), as well as early topographical artist such as John 'Warwick' Smith (1749–1831).

The subject appears to be a somewhat attenuated view at Caernarfon Castle, Gwynedd, Wales.

On wove paper.
