An original mid-20th-century watercolour painting – G.D. Paulraj, Indian Street Scene.

A beautiful, atmospheric street scene by G.D. Paulraj (1914–1979), bustling with figures and with a food or drinks vendor seated on the ground in the foreground.

Paulraj's paintings are celebrated for their observation of everyday life and their atmospheric technique in watercolour, utilising the white of the paper to achieve luminous highlights rather than mixing white paint.

This is one of two paintings by G.D. Paulraj that we have for sale (see stock number KE-050).
