This watercolour shows at Craigcrook House near Edinburgh, the seat of Lord Jeffrey.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis watercolour forms part of a collection of works by Mary Ann, who married into the Thynne family, the Marquesses of Bath, of Longleat House, Wiltshire. The family had close royal associations; Mary Ann was Lady of the Bedchamber to HRH Princess Sophia (daughter of George III) and HRH Princess Charlotte Augusta (the only child of George IV).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eMary Ann's niece, Charlotte Anne, married the Duke of Buccleuch—one of the most powerful and wealthy aristocrats in Britain, often described as Scotland’s premier landowner.
