Close to Home

Had to post this late 19th-century view of our very own Saxon church here in Bradford on Avon. Painted in 1895 by William Martin Conway, later Sir Martin Conway, 1st Baron of Allington (1856–1937). Reassuringly, whilst the ever-present throng of traffic is absent, the feel of the places remains the same—the power of living amongst historic architecture, a tonic for the soul.
