A vivid miniature set of six 19th-century Indian gouache paintings on transparent mica depicting servants and trades. The paintings are small in size, measuring approximately 10 x 7cm.
The detailed, colourful images comprise a Meat Seller; Washerman 'Dhobi'; Dholak Drum Player; Fruit Seller; Weaver; and Porter Carrying Chest..
Indian Company paintings on mica are rare; it is estimated that as of now, there are only around 7,000 mica paintings available in the world.
