The artists were prominent in the city and relied to a great extent on the patronage of the local gentry. Versions of the composition are in the collection of the V\u0026amp;A (no.IS.201-1949) and British Museum (no.1989,0415,0.1).\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe present version is meticulously rendered in opaque gouache. The painting is executed on a sheet of Mughal manuscript paper, with extensive handwritten Persian text on the verso.
