Jesus Feeding the Five Thousand – Original 19th-century watercolour painting

An original 19th-century watercolour painting Jesus Feeding the Five Thousand.

An interesting watercolour, skilfully painted in a distinctive palette. We acquired this painting in a group which included works by listed artists such as Augustus Wall Callcott, John Henry Mole, Samuel Medley, Thomas Pennethorne and William Evans of Bristol.

On watermarked Whatman Turkey Mill wove paper. The paper is backed with a buff-coloured paper, which is partially removed in patches. Underneath this backing a pair of foot studies in pencil can just be seen on the verso.

All artworks come with a Certificate of Authenticity and—if it is a collection artwork—its accompanying collection text or artist biography.
