12 prints from the Collections of the Royal Aeronautical Society reproduced by the Society to mark its Centenary 1966.
This interesting set of twelves prints were produced from the Collection of the Royal Aeronautical Society to mark the Centenary of the Society in 1966. Subjects include, amongst others, 'The Beginnings of Aerial Reconnaissance 1794', 'The First Balloons 1783-84' and 'Doctor Miller's Design for an Ornithopter 1843'. Ten of the twelve prints have their original coversheet too, on thin tissue paper, giving a description of the scene depicted (two of these sheets are missing). The set comes with an overall cover sheet, which appears to have been cut in half.
Overall in very good condition, there is some minor creasing to the edges of some of the thin cover sheets.
33cm x 38cm.
