An appealing landscape view, with detail worked up in coloured graphite. A.J.F. Bond is best known as a maritime artist, and etcher of London scenes.

Signed lower right.
There is some age toning to the paper, and faint creasing at the right of the image.

Arthur James F. Bond RSMA (1888–1958) studied at Goldsmiths' College and at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London. Born in Devon, he went on to settle in London, and the city provided inspiration for his work in oils, watercolour and etching. Bond was elected a member of the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the Wapping Group of Artists. He established a studio on Gravesend Pier. He exhibited at the Royal Academy 1912-1918.
