Blackwell Mill, Darlington, Durham - Late 19th-century watercolour painting

An original late 19th-century watercolour painting, Blackwell Mill, Darlington, Durham.

This vision of rural industry depicts the Blackwell Mill in Darlington, County Durham. Built by the Skerne close near the South Park lake, the mill was demolished in the late 1930s. Laid down on backing paper.

Unsigned. Inscribed on separate accompanying fragment of paper: 'Blackwell Mill'.
The verso of the backing paper has abrasions at the corners, which does not affect the front image.
17.1cm x 24.2cm.

This work is one of a small grouping of late 19th-century watercolours that we have for sale which focuses primarily on landscape and coastal scenes from County Durham and North Yorkshire.
