Catherine St Aubyn (1760-1836) was daughter of Sir John St Aubyn, 4th Baronet of Clowance in Cornwall. She was pupil of John Opie RA, as was her brother, the MP and fossil collector, Sir John St Aubyn, 5th Baronet. Her brother went on to become Opie’s most important and generous patron. Catherine St Aubyn’s work is rare, but there are few of her works at St Michael's Mount, Cornwall.
