An original early 20th-century watercolour painting, Chapel in Woodland Miniature.
A sweet watercolour of a charming rural scene, in miniature. On buff-coloured paper.
There are minor abrasions to the paper at the corners on the verso from having historically been laid down.
11.2cm x 7.5cm.
Miniature art has a unique appeal. Miniatures became especially popular in Europe in the 16th century, and became increasingly popular in the 17th and 18th centuries. Condensed into a small composition, the key components of a view can be used to communicate the effect of an entire landscape.
