An original early 20th-century watercolour painting, Church Yard Miniature.
A sweet watercolour of a charming rural scene, in miniature. On buff-coloured paper.
There are small pieces of tape visible at the corners, and there are small paper remnants to the corners on the verso from having historically been laid down.
12.7cm x 8.4cm.
Miniature art has a unique appeal. Miniatures became especially popular in Europe in the 16th century, and became increasingly popular in the 17th and 18th centuries. Condensed into a small composition, the key components of a view can be used to communicate the effect of an entire landscape.
