Painted in 1868, the work shows a rare early view at the mouth of Sydney Harbour, New South Wales.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAt this time, Commander Causton served on board HMS Himalaya, a Royal Navy troopship, which carried troops to garrisons abroad and seamen to join ships on foreign stations.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis painting forms part of a collection by Causton that we have for sale, sketched between 1868 and 1874.
