An original 1880s watercolour painting, T.E.T., Victorian Political Cartoon 'Vote for Brymer'.
A satirical cartoon by a British hand in colonial India. The artist was evidently someone associated with high society at the British Raj hill station known as Ootacamund, the summer capital of the Madras Presidency.
This cartoon depicts a humorous exchange regarding the Conservative politician William Brymer.
This watercolour forms part of a collection of works by the same hand that we have for sale, which poke fun at the British imperial and political elite in the 1880s. A number of the paintings are initialled T.E.T.
