Craftswomanship

We're in awe of the craftsmanship (or craftswomanship) in our newly listed pair of 18th-century silkwork embroideries. Whilst the subjects are biblical and the compositions classical, there is something compellingly post-modern about their sense of mixed-media 'collage' and their domestic 'folk' art meets high art identity.
