A set of 8 original Indian Company School 19th-century watercolour paintings – Trades & Occupations of India.
A beautiful set of eight Indian Company School figures, comprising: Woman with Sarus Crane; Ayah with Child; Woman Playing Tanpura; Musician with a Khole, or Drum; Moonshee, or Interpreter; Shaprasse, or Porter; Chobdar, or Silver-stick bearer; Servant with Vessel.
In watercolour with touches of gold and white paint on cream card.
Two of the cards are faintly inscribed in pencil on the verso, 'No.5' and 'No.10'.
With gum arabic to intensify the colour.
