An intriguing sketch in graphite and wash, with a tentative attribution to Thomas Daniell RA (1749–1840) or William Daniell RA (1769–1837). On laid J Whatman paper with fleur de lis and coronet watermark, which dates the paper to around the 1790s.

Thomas Daniell spent seven years in India, accompanied by his nephew William, between 1786 and 1793.
