An original early 19th-century gouache painting, Young, Boat in Estuary Dry Dock.

An interesting small painting in opaque gouache on buff-coloured paper.

The paper is signed on the verso 'Young'. This is possibly one of two British artists working in the first quarter of the 19th century, Tobias Young (1755–1825) and John Young (1786–1828), whose work is sometimes confused. Both artists are associated with Southampton and the Channel Islands.

Please note the small size of this artwork.
